Your
wedding ceremony & reception reflects both you as a
couple and your ideal setting for that one perfect day.
Planning for this celebration can easily entail months
of focused arrangement. Once the day has been realized,
memories are what will remain to keep your wedding day
alive & luxuriant for you and those close to you.
As one of your vendors, my job for the day is
one which will provide you with a visual archive
to recall & reflect for the rest of
your lives. Flowers will die, food will be consumed and the dress
will be packed away. Pictures, as we all know so well, have the power
to hold a moment, allowing us to relive it as often as we choose.
There is a label which many photographers have chosen to give their
work in recent years, one which is often based in nothing more than
sheer trend & fad. It is most commonly called "Wedding Photojournalism." Traditional
wedding photographers can be trained quickly, but to earn the title
of "photojournalist" requires many years of honing and
adapting one's skills to a level of expert photography which far
surpasses the ordinary and instead delves into the extraordinary.
A photojournalist simply "captures" the image the same
way a magazine or newspaper photographer would - by observing & recording
the important moments on film without any interference to what is
happening on the other side of the lens.
It is my job, as a true wedding photojournalist, to capture compelling
images from fleeing moments in time. By using my attention to detail,
artistry and expertise, I am able to separate myself from the traditional
wedding photography houses.
